Story: Here are a few pictures of Avery and I this past weekend. We where on the flats at Tobin Lake. Unfortunately we did not have a scale, but based on Big pike that I have seen in the past I estimate the small one to be to be about 18-19 lbs The bigger one I got was about 21-22. Avery's caught the biggest one of the trip. I estimate him at about 23-24 lbs. He caught it in about 3' of water in the hut, so we got to see it strike his hook. He did an awesome job of fighting him. Needless to say it was pretty exciting for the both of us to see it come up the hole!!

Story: Here’s the fish and my uncle’s broken net. I tried to lift it into the boat once my dad (on the right) took the oar to the back of its head. Apparently the net wasn’t strong enough.

Story: I was at the cabin on the weekend at Katepwa Lake and brought my fly rod just to practice casting. (not that I need to or anything). I practiced for about 30 minutes or so and was reeling in my line when I got a hit... now there are lots of perch off the dock at our cabin but this was a little stronger. It surfaced and it was about a 4LB pike. I didn't have a steel leader tied on so I played with the fish for about 15 minutes .... my reel was just screaming every time that it ran.... all the neighbors came down to see what was happening... I finally had the fish by the dock and as I reach down to pick him out of the water....(no net... just practicing..) the fish looked up...opened his mouth and snapped the leader.... lost a good fly but it was worth it.

We were trolling around The Big Island on Lac Des Isles in Meadow Lake Provincial Park and hooked a few small pike near the reed beds. They seemed to like the classic red & white spoon.

Story: Kris Greenman, There we were trolling up and down a shore at Long Lake, the fishing had been nothing to brag about, but we were enjoying the nice Saskatchewan sun.  We had caught a few smaller Jack fish, but nothing huge.  I was using one of my favorite hooks a yellow jig head with a yellow mister twister trailing. We were coming up to a point that we had trolled over several times when all of a sudden I had a hit, and then another I finally hooked the Jack he was fighting like a good sized fish, the fight lasted around 15 minutes. The fish ended up weighing at 17lbs. We trolled the rest of the day and caught one almost the same size. A good day all around.
