Redneck Palm PilotSharksOn a tour of Florida, the Pope took a couple of days off his itinerary to visit the coastline on an impromptu sightseeing trip. His 4X4 Popemobile was driving along the beautiful shoreline in an area where Canadian tourists typically inhabit when there was an enormous commotion heard just off the headland. He drove closer to see what it was. Upon approaching the scene, he saw a man in the water wearing a Boston Bruins hockey jersey, struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of a 25-foot shark. At that moment, a speedboat containing three men wearing Montreal Canadiens' jerseys roared into view from around the point. Immediately, one of the men took aim and fired a harpoon into the shark's ribs, immobilizing it instantly. The other two reached out and pulled the Bruins fan from the water and then, using long clubs, beat the shark to death. They then bundled the bleeding, semi-conscious man into the boat along with the dead shark andthen prepared for a hasty retreat when they heard frantic shouting from the shore. It was the Pope summoning them to the beach.nAfter they reached shore, the Pope praised them for the rescue and said, "I give you my blessing for your brave actions. I had heard that there was bitter hatred in your country between the fans of the Canadiens and the Bruins, but now I have seen with my own eyes this is not true. I can see that your society is a truly enlightened example of true harmony and yourcompanionship could serve as a model on which other countries, like this one, could follow". He blessed them all and drove off in a cloud of dust.?As he departed, the harpooner asked the others, "Who was that?"N"That," one guy answered, "was his Holiness, the Pope. He is in direct contact0with God and has access to all of God's wisdom"."Well," the harpooner replied, "he doesn't know a thing about shark fishing. Now, is the bait holding up okay, or do we need to get another one?" ICE FISHINGZOnce upon a time, not long ago there was a Presidential election that was too close to call. Neither the Republican presidential candidate nor the Democratic presidential candidate had enough votes to win the election. Therefore, it was decided that there should be an ice-fishing contest between the two candidates to determine the final winner. There was much talk about ballot recounting, court challenges, etc., but a week long ice fishing competition seemed the (manly) way to settle things.EThe candidate that catches the most fish at the end of the week wins.-After a lot of back and forth discussion, it was decided that the contest would take place on a remote and cold lake in North Dakota. There were to be no observers present, and both men were to be sent out separately on this remote lake and return daily with their catch for counting and verification. At the end of the first day, George W. returns to the starting line and he has 10 fish. Soon, Al Gore returns and has zero fish.xWell, everyone assumes he is just having another bad hair day or something and hopefully, he will catch up the next day._At the end of the 2nd day George W. comes in with 20 fish and Al Gore comes in again with none. That evening, Bill Clinton gets together secretly with Al and says, "Al, I think George W. is a lowlife cheatin' son-of-a-gun. I want you to go out tomorrow and don't even bother with fishing. Just spy on him and see if he is cheating in any way.The next night (after George W. comes back with 50 fish), Bill Clinton says to Al, "Well, what about it, is George W. cheatin'?"2"He sure is, Bill, he's cutting holes in the ice."another year of deer huntingMy father and I decided to head south of Weyburn to hunt pheasant during the late season. After continuing through the forest for a few miles, he comes across a small boy carrying a bow and arrow. Eventually the boy admits that it was he who shot the arrows plumb in the center of all the targets. "You didn't just walk up to the targets and hammer the arrows into the middle, did you?" asks the duke worriedly. "No my lord. I shot them from 1< 00 paces. I swear it by all that I hold holy." "That is truly astonishing," says the duke. "I hereby admit you into my service. But I must ask one favor in return. You must tell me how you came to be such an outstanding shot." Help me!"At once, the ferocious attack scene froze in place, and as the atheist hung in mid-air, a booming voice came down from the clouds, "I thought you didn't believe in Me!""Come on God, give me a break!!" the man pleaded. They can't believe how big the deer is. "It was easy. Found the tracks, followed the tracks, BAM shot the deer." The next day, the second hunter goes out, and comes back with an even bigger deer. The third guy's eyes bug out when he sees it, and he asks him how he did it. "Same thing the first guy did. Found the tracks, followed the tracks, BAM shot the deer." So on the third day, the last guy goes out to hunt. He doesn't come back for a very long time. When he staggers into the cabin, rifle gone, all beat up and bruised, with only one boot, the other two are very surprised. They ask him what happened. We knocked down six big Canada's but we only came home with 4. The four were adult birds and the largest weighing in at 10.5 pounds a good weight for this time of the year. I had four dozen shell decoys out and was using Super magnum decoy to hide in. I had some big Canada's land only 20 yards from me so it was a great morning. I called that flock right in and then missed with my first shot. I am once again not happy with the steel shot but I will have to get used to it. I knocked two more big birds down only to have them get up and fly away when the dog approached them the geese are not even well feathered yet. I am shooting the remington 3" shells loaded with BB, I thought that it would have the knock down power I guess I was wrong with those two geese the other three were stone dead. "I've GOT to see this!"The redneck poured the fish into the lake and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to him and said, "Well?""Well, what?" said the redneck. The warden said, "When are you going to call them back?"The redneck said, "Call who back?""The FISH!" replied the warden."What fish?" answered the redneck. We in Alberta may not be as smart as some city slickers, but we aren'tas dumb as some government employees. So the man turns around and as he is turned around the woman passes gas he turns around and says the total will be 25.50 she says I thought it was 20 dollars he said it is butt it's 2.50 for the duck call and 3 dollars for the catfish bait. vBow Hunter There's a fellow who is a bow hunting fanatic. Every Saturday morning he gets up early and eager and looks forward to hunting all day long. Well, one Saturday morning he gets up early, dresses quietly, gets his gear all loaded and goes to his truck to drive to the woods. Coming out of his garage, rain is pouring down; it is like a torrential downpour. There is sleet mixed in with the rain and the wind is blowing 50 mph. He returns to the garage, comes back in the house and turns the TV to the weather channel. He finds out it's going to be bad weather all day long. So, he puts his bow back in the house, quietly undresses and slips back into bed. There he cuddles up to his wife's back, now with a different anticipation and whispers "The weather out there is terrible." He and a friend go duck hunting in winter, and of course all the lakes are frozen. These two guys go out on the lake with the guns, the dog, and of course the new vehicle. They drive out onto the lake ice and get ready. Now, they want to make some kind of a natural landing area for the ducks, something for the decoys to float on. In order to make a hole large enough to look like something a wandering duck would fly down and land on, it is going to take a little more effort than an ice hole drill. So, out of the back of the new Navigator comes a stick of dynamite with a short, 40-second fuse. Now these two Rocket - Scientists do take into consideration that they want to place the stick of dynamite on the ice at a location far from where they are standing (and the new Navigator), because they don't want to take the risk of slipping on the ice when they run from the burning fuse and possibly go up in smoke with the resulting blast. They light the 40-second fuse and throw the dynamite. Remember a couple of paragraphs back when I mentioned the vehicle, the guns and the dog? Let's talk about the dog: A highly trained Black Lab used for RETRIEVING. Especially things thrown by the owner. You guessed it, the dog takes off at a high rate of doggy speed on the ice and captures the stick of dynamite with the burning 40-second fuse about the time it hits the ice. The two men yell, scream, wave their arms and wonder what to do now. The dog, cheered on, keeps coming. One of the guys grabs the shotgun and shoots the dog. The shotgun is loaded with # 8 buckshot, hardly big enough to stop a Black Lab. The dog stops for a moment, slightly confused, but continues on. Another shot and this time the dog, still standing, becomes really confused and of course terrified, thinking these two geniuses have gone insane. The dog takes off to find cover, under the brand new Navigator. ----BOOM!---- Dog and Navigator are blown to bits and sink to the bottom of the lake in a very large hole, leaving the two idiots standing there with this "I can't believe this happened" look on their faces. The insurance company says that sinking a vehicle in a lake by illegal use of explosives is not covered. He still had yet to make the first of those $560 a month payments! And you thought your day was not going well? The Rod and Reel A woman goes into Wal-Mart to buy a rod and reel. She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the register. There is a Wal- Mart "associate" standing there with dark shades on. She says, "Excuse me sir...can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?" He says, "Ma'am I'm blind but if you will drop it on the counter I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound that it makes." She didn't believe him, but dropped it on the counter anyway. He said, "That's a 6' graphite rod with a Zebco 202 reel and 10 lb. test line...It's a good all around rod and reel and it's $20.00". She says, "That's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I think it's what I'm looking for so I'll take it."He walks behind the counter to the register, and in the meantime the woman breaks wind big-time. At first she is embarrassed but thenrealizes that there is no way he could tell it was her...being blind he wouldn't know that she was the only person around. He rings up the sale and says, "That will be $25.50." She says, "But didn't you say it was $20.00?" He says, "Yes ma'am, the rod and reel is $20.00, the duck call is $3.00, and the catfish stink bait is $2.50."Take your license. A couple of young guys were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track when out of the bushes jumped the game warden!LQ. What did the fish say when it hit it's head on the concrete wall? A. Dam!Ice fishing. Two young fellas were out at the bar late one winter night when the decided to go ice fishing. They staggered from the bar out onto the ice. Again, just before their ice auger began chewing through the ice, a voice said, "There's no fish down there". So they moved down the ice another 30 feet, just about ready to drill, when the same voice said, "There's no fish down there". One of the two looked upwards and asked, "God, is that you?" The response came immediately, "No, it's the arena announcer!"Talk or Fish Old Joe went out fishing every morning, and always came back with a bucket full of fish. Surprising thing was he never took along a rod or reel. Just a tackle box and a net. So the game officer got curious and asked Old Joe if he could accompany him along on his next fishing trip. Old Joe said, "If you want, be here at six tomorrow morning." The next morning, bright and early, they set off in Old Joe's row boat, with tackle box and net. Old Joe rowed around the point and dropped anchor. He reached into his tackle box and pulled out a cigar. Then he pulled out a lighter and lit the cigar. By now the game officer was getting impatient and asked Joe, "Did we come here to smoke or to fish?". Old Joe Reached into the tacle box and pulled out a stick of dynamite and lit the fuse. The game officer immediately declared, "I'm placing you under arrest for illegal fishing!" Old Joe smiled and handed the stick of dynamite to the game officer and asked, "Are you gonna talk all day or are you gonna fish?"%Hunting Stats Three statisticians went bow hunting for deer. They spot a big buck and take aim. One shoots and his arrow flies off ten feet to the left. The second shoots, and his arrow veers ten feet to the right. The third statistician jumps up and down yelling, "We got him! We got him!"Do fish get thirsty? Four reasons why fishin' is better than makin' Love: 1. Fish don't compare you to other fishermen and don't want to know how many other fish you caught.2. You can catch & release a fish, without having to promise to still be friends after you let it go.3. You don't have to necessarily change your line to keep catching fish.4. Fish don't mid if you fall asleep in the middle of fishin.DooDah Once there were two best friends named Fred and DooDah. they loved to go fishing, and one day headed out to their favorite lake to fish. After getting out on the lake, DooDah hooked a huge fish which proceeded to pull him overboard. He drowned. Fred was brokenhearted. Now, after losing his best friend in the world, he had to tell DooDah's wife what had happened. He thought long and hard, but couldn't think of just the right words. Finally he knocked on her door, thinking that the right words would come when she opened the door. Well, DooDah's wife opened the door and heard Fred start singing, 'Guess who drowned in the lake today?...DooDah.....DooDah.what the sign on the wall says: WORLD RECORDNon-Typical Mule DeerB & C Score 355 2/8Taken by Ed Broder at Chip Lake, Alberta on Nov 26, 1926. This incredible mule deer ranks as one of the most outstanding big-game trophies ever taken by a sport hunter in North America.Photo #2 Ed Broder and Philip Mohr packed Ed s 1914 Model T Ford touring car in November of 1926 with three weeks supply of hunting gear and provisions and headed west out of Edmonton, Alberta. Reaching the settlement of McKa<y near Chip Lake, Alberta they traveled south over near-impassable logging roads to their chosen campsite on the Bigoray River. From this point on the wilderness was so rugged that hunting could only be accomplished on foot. During the first week out Ed bagged a black bear despite poor hunting conditions, as the first snowfall had not yet arrived. At the start of the second week a foot of fresh snow arrived making excellent hunting conditions for which Ed and Philip could use their keen tracking abilities to their advantage. Both of these men were extremely skilled in bush hunting and were always prepared to spend a night on the tracks in the wilderness in order to pursue their game at daybreak the following day.jPhoto #3 During the second week Ed was tracking a moose when he noticed a big deer track had crossed the moose track, after examining the deer track more closely he chose to track the fresher deer track because he always wanted a nice big buck to have mounted. After tracking the deer for several hours Ed became cold and wet but still persisted. The deer tracks led him to a small clearing where he spotted the deer browsing in some low shrubs at 100 yards. Moments later when the deer raised its head, the antlers came into view and Ed quickly drew his Winchester 32 Special and dropped the buck. Upon approaching his game Ed realized this was no ordinary mule deer, it was a truly awesome buck. Ed had Wolfe Taxidermists do a shoulder mount and proudly displayed his trophy in his home for 36 years prior to being officially scored by the Boone and Crockett club in 1962.Photo #4 As scored by the Boone & Crockett Club:In total 43 scorable points graced its head with 22 points on the right and 21 points on the left. The greatest spread is 38 5/8 inches and 22 1/8 inches inside spread. Main beams run 26 inches. Longest brow tine is 4 4/8 inches, with the longest second tine of 19 5/8 inches, third tine 14 inches, fourth tine 12 6/8 inches, largest circumference is 6 4/8 inches. Total on the right antler is 96 1/8 inches and left antler 95 5/8 inches for a total score of 213 7/8 inches. It has 6 4/8 deductions for a final typical score of 208 3/8 inches . Set the scope in and then went out for an evening shoot. Managed to get a shot at about 100 yards just before dark. Not bad for my first White tail with the muzzle loader. It is an 8 x 6 with 6 inch plus brow tines. Not that even but an interesting rack. Check this out!!! Saskatchewan4 deer we got last weekkHere are some more pictures of all 4 deer we got last week.
